associate of science in nursing

The City College Associate of Science in Nursing program is designed to give students the skills to act as first-level professional caregivers and vital members of a medical team. The 8 quarter program focuses on training students in fundamental medical procedures, but also teaches a “holistic nursing” approach, which treats the “whole” person from a mind, body and spirit perspective. Translation – students can learn to provide more compassionate treatment by considering a number of factors.

Upon graduation and successful completion of the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX), students can seek employment at a variety of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, home health facilities, physician’s offices, hospices and more.

Associate of Science in Nursing

Graduating with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from the ACEN accredited City College program, students will have all the necessary tools and skills to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX), which is required to become a Registered Nurse. Upon completion of the Associate Degree, students will have the freedom to specialize in a path that is right for them, whether it’s trauma, pediatrics, geriatrics, and more.

It’s hard to imagine a hospital, clinic or medical practice functioning without the caring, professional support of qualified nurses. Choosing to join a profession that is literally all about helping others takes a special person, and there are few more rewarding career paths.
