Obtaining a Paramedic Diploma from City College will prepare a graduate to sit for the National Registry Paramedic cognitive exam which can pave the way to a very exciting and rewarding future. Applicants into this program must be actively registered with the Florida Department of Health and possess their EMT License.
Paramedics are advanced emergency medical care providers. They are educated and trained to work in the front lines of medical services by providing advanced support to emergency patients. Paramedics can carry out essential duties of a physician, including patient examination, administering medication and treating patients with emergency equipment. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 6% growth in Paramedic positions through 2029** – faster than average.

The Paramedic Diploma program will prepare students to keep calm and think and act quickly during emergency situations. Through the 5 quarter program, students will go through didactic and lab courses as well as complete 492 extern contact hours. Graduates of the program, with successful certification as a Paramedic, may qualify for careers within the out-of-hospital emergency service industry, both in the public and private sectors. Students must have passed the NREMT or EMT certification in order to apply for the Paramedic program.
