Emergency Medical Services : a Career for a Hero!
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics are in high demand.
The field in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is expanding not only in Florida, but throughout the U.S. With the increase of our older population in the U.S., opportunities in this exciting and rewarding field will continue to grow. Employment of EMTs and Paramedics is expected to grow by 33 percent from 2010 to 2010, much faster than the average for all occupations*.
Often times people’s lives depend on the quick reaction and competent care of EMTs and paramedics. With additional advanced training EMTs and paramedics perform more difficult prehospital medical procedures. Various unpleasant incidents such as automobile accidents, heart attacks, drownings, childbirth, and gunshot wounds all require immediate medical attention. EMTs and paramedics provide this vital attention as they care while transporting the sick or injured person to a medical facility.
