Having grown up a “military brat,” Makeala learned at an early age how to be flexible and adapt to new environments, while maintaining stability and continuing to move forward — all of which have helped shape her as an individual, educator, and certified life coach.
Makeala currently holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Education, and she is currently pursuing an M.S. in Social Psychology. Her 15 years of experience at the secondary and post-secondary education levels include teaching personal development and professionalism courses and advising high school students and adult learners. During Makeala’s time as a general education program chair, she managed 10-19 faculty members at a given time, providing support, conducting classroom observations, and completing faculty annual reviews.
Her life coaching practice focuses on one on one life and career coaching along with facilitating life skills workshop presentations. She works with professionals who are motivated yet overwhelmed in their personal lives and careers and want to get clear and focused on the best next steps, so they can achieve the significant results they desire.
In addition to her current role as an educator and life coach, Makeala enjoys volunteering with the Covenant House of Orlando, and she is a member of the International Coach Federation, Central Florida Chapter.
Her mantra is “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style”-Maya Angelou
