Success Stories from City College Students

“I graduated from City College with an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting. Before I enrolled, I had worked in management at a fast food restaurant and in day care. I wanted to have a career in which I could work for the next 20 years.

The City College experience was even better than I thought it would be. I was worried because I had been out of school for more than two decades, but my teachers were always there to help, and the flexible class schedules worked well for me.

After I graduated, my externship supervisor hired me to work there. I love my job! I just wish I had gone to City College sooner. It changed my life.

Medical Office Administration with a Track in Insurance, Billing, and Coding

Our program prepares our students with the knowledge and specialized skills for a career in the medical billing and coding profession. Secretarial and administrative skills are emphasized providing graduates with the opportunity to qualify for entry level positions such as:

  • Medical Coding Clerk
  • Medical Billing Specialist
  • Medical Records Clerk
  • Medical Office Assistant

Here is another Graduate success Story in the Medical Billing and Coding field:

Success Stories from City College Students

“I graduated from City College with a Diploma in Phlebotomy and an Associate’s degree in Medical Billing and Coding. Before I became a student, I was wasting my life away. I wanted to further my education so I could financially support my daughter and myself.

At City College, the teachers worked hand-in-hand with students. They always have time for you. I got a great on-the-job training during my externship at an outpatient lab.

My career goal is to launch my own business and work with different doctors. I’d also like to teach Medical Billing and Coding someday. City College is a great place to help people get their start.”

Mental Health Technology (Gainesville Campus)

Our Mental Health Technology program prepares our students to assist psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals in assessment, referral, counseling, and recreational activities for patients/clients.

Job Opportunities:

  • Mental Health Technician
  • Aid in Residential Mental Health Care Facilities
  • Aid in Outpatient Mental Health Care Facilities
Chandra Davis is another success story from our Mental Health Technology program:

” I graduated from City College with an Associate’s degree in Mental Health Technology. I decided to go to college so I could train for a career I really wanted instead of just working a job to pay the bills.

The professors at City College teach you what you need to know to succeed in the workplace. They go out of their way to help you. I liked the hands-on learning, which is very different than other colleges where you just learn from a book.”

You, too, can change your life through education! One of these graduates could be you in the near future.
