Program Clinical Coordinator Hunter Martin moved to Gainesville from Tysons Corner, Virginia. He has been a certified veterinary technician since 2007 but has worked in the veterinary field since 2004. He did not take the typical course in academia and instead traveled and studied at different Universities and Colleges across the country. He graduated from the Veterinary Technician Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. He studied architecture at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Zoology at Miami University in Oxford, OH and studied at Santa Fe College teaching zoo in Gainesville, FL.
Hunter has worked and held positions in many hospital settings including emergency, exotic medicine, general practice, specialty clinics and shelters. Hunter is currently employed by Countryside Animal Hospital as well as City College, and he is a member of NAVTA and the ARAV. The areas of Anesthesia, analgesia management, and dentistry are topics and skills he has spent a lot of his continuing education focusing on. He hopes to continue to grow in this field and has never regretted getting started in veterinary medicine. Ultimately it is the need to care for animals that has kept his interest and has led him to want to share and teach his experiences with others.
