May 19-25, 2019, is the 45th annual National EMS Week and City College would like to take the time to feature some of our wonderful EMS Instructors as well as our EMS students.

Mr. Michael Verga, City College EMS Clinical Coordinator, holds a Bachelor of Education and Associate of Liberal Arts from Florida Atlantic University. He has been a member of City College academic team since 2013.  Mr. Verga has been a certified Firefighter in the State of Florida for 11 years and a certified Paramedic in the State of Florida for 12 years.  He started his career as a professional Firefighter for the City of North Lauderdale and provided service to that City for almost 6 years. He now works for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and holds the position of Lieutenant / Paramedic.  He previously worked at various Broward County Schools as a substitute teacher and Assistant Coach for Swimming and Water polo High School teams. Mr. Verga has been involved with Emergency Medical Services education for 5 years.
