May 19-25, 2019, is the 45th annual National EMS Week and City College would like to take the time to feature some of our wonderful EMS Instructors as well as our EMS students.

Alejandro Mahy -EMS Instructor, currently a Lieutenant for Palm Beach Fire Rescue where he has been serving there for almost 8 years. He started my career in the fire service over 17 years ago when he joined the United States Air Force and became a firefighter. He has also been fortunate to work for the Florida Forrest Service and the National Park Service as a wildland firefighter. Since Mr. Mahy was a child he’s always had a fascination with firefighters and fire trucks. It is a job he’s always wanted to do since he can remember. The ability to work in such a dynamic environment in which no one day is the same is a joy for him. What he loves most about being a firefighter/paramedic is the comradery amongst the firefighters. It’s a brotherhood that brings about a sense of purpose and pride in my life.

This week we honor the dedication you provide in the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”
