Meet Amber Stephens, Private Investigations Department Chair at the Miami Campus. Former law enforcement officer from Illinois, and has enjoyed her tenure as a professor with City College for 4 years. Mrs. Stephens is a licensed Private Investigator and the owner of Maxxim Investigations, a full service Private Investigative agency in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Mrs. Stephens is also the Vice President of Investigations for Global Children’s Rescue, a non-profit organization focusing on human trafficking and missing and exploited children. Mrs. Stephens currently holds a security clearance with the United States Government and conduct background investigations for US Customs Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
With 5 years as a licensed Private Investigator, Mrs. Stephens wanted to share her expertise and experience with her students. The industry is unique and her program is exciting as it allows her to teach from real-world experience rather than from a textbook in a traditional setting. It brings Mrs. Stephens immense satisfaction to witness the transformation, watching the growth as students become fully licensed Private Investigators, with most eventually owning their own Private Investigations Agency! Mrs. Stephens became a Private Investigator because she loves making a difference and helping people. With City College, she gets to shine while making a difference in my student’s lives.
