As the demand for skilled laboratory personnel increases, there is a growing need for qualified phlebotomists. These medical professionals draw blood from patients for various lab tests and procedures. City College, one of the top phlebotomy training schools in Florida, will prepare you for success in an entry-level position in this exciting field.
As a student in City College’s phlebotomy program, you’ll study human anatomy and physiology, CPR, blood collection, transfusions, biohazards, medical ethics and infection control. You’ll also get practical, on-the-job training in our clinical laboratory. Graduates who go on to earn phlebotomy certification can work as members of the healthcare team with registered nurses or doctors in a variety of medical settings.
Students enrolling in this program will be required to submit proof of a physical examination, PPD (Tuberculosis Screen), and Hepatitis Series performed by a physician or other licensed health care provider prior to enrolling in MEA1245C Phlebotomy Procedures and MEA2260C Clinical Lab Procedures.
