International Students
City College has a diverse group of students from different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Our students come from five continents and over 15 countries offering a multicultural educational experience.
As an international student, there are various requirements that you must meet to be considered for admission to City College. The International Student Representatives will assist you with the admissions process.
Admission Requirements
Applicants are advised to begin their application at least three months prior to their intended enrollment date.
Documents that an International Student will need for issuing an I-20
- Application for admissions with $100 fee ($25 Application Fee & $75 Registration fee)
- $10 Student ID, $5 High School transcript and $5 for each college transcript requested.
- All new students must take the entrance exam (TABE TEST)

- Proof of High School graduation.
- One quarters tuition, fees, and books prior to issuing I-20. (Amount may differ depending on program)
- Valid Passport.
- Letter of non-abandonment.
- Bank statement indicating monies available for student in excess of $20,000 US.
- A letter from sponsor indicating that these monies are available for the student by name. (An Additional amount of $3,000 US is need for any dependents)
- A copy of any college transcripts for evaluation of transfer.
- A permanent address in the student’s home country.
- A permanent address in the United States.
- A form I-901 must be submitted and the appropriate fee to SEVIS.
Note: It is the student responsibility to remain “in status” while in the United States. It is not up to the College to see that the student is in status. There are a set of rules and regulations that are available for the student in the Admissions Office.
